She "Bangs" this Fall/Winter InStyle!!!

This season women are looking for the perfect way to add a flirty, innocent but sophisticated womanly touch to their Hairstyle.   So instead of going into your salon this season and cutting 6 inches off your hair so that you can wear cute turtlenecks.... change the FRONT of your Hairstyle!  Many of us can change the length or the layering and make the back of our hair look different all year long, BUT we as woman don't look any different when we look in the mirror (or to others for that matter) if we dont change the way we look from the FRONT.  So this season's trend among all age groups..... BANGS!! From Celebrities like Julianne Moore to Zoey Deschanel to Hillary Duff this trend is THE trend for this season to embrace being a woman and doing something different!  Be sure and tell your stylist to make sure the bang is nice and thick and frames your face by being longer around your eyes and almost down to the top of your cheek.  One of the key styling elements to get this look is to NOT round brush the bang area when drying.... instead hold the blowdryer above your bang area and blow directlty down on the hair in a sweeping motion from left to right.  Blowdry the rest of your style as normal.  To finish this style off don't forget to add a few drops of Biosilk Silk Therapy and flight iron your NEW bangs with a VERY SLIGHT bend to the ends!  The shine will be fabulous and your new bangs will have just enough bluntness on the ends to add that fliry sophistication to your NEW style for this Fall/Winter Season!
Thanks to my client Lauren for being the 1st to try out this new trend!

NIOXIN-SAY BYE BYE TO THINNING HAIR!

For the 10th consecutive year, Nioxin won the 11th Annual Stylist Choice Award for Favorite Fine/Thinning Haircare Product.
Read this amazing testimonial from a client!
In 1990, a new product line called Nioxin was launched to salons. They claimed that this line would help keep the hair that you have on your head, by treating the scalp and hair follicles with the proper cleansers and stimulating conditioners. They believed that a healthy scalp promoted healthy hair growth. We had a demonstration in the salon with a scope that could show you your scalp and the build-up at the follicle level. I started using System One Shampoo, Scalp Therapy and Scalp Treatment for Normal to Thin Looking Hair. The shampoo and scalp therapy have a stimulating feeling and the scalp treatment brings blood to the surface of your scalp, which nourishes your hair keeping it healthy and strong. It was exactly what the doctor had prescribed for me years prior!
I have two sons in twenties and I have advised both of them to use these products now to insure healthy strong hair and to help keep the hair that have. These are the only products that I use on my hair and I do honestly believe that the hair that I have on my head today is still there because I have used this scalp system faithfully for so many years.

SPRING TREND-SHORT CROPPED BOB

 Springs Hottest Trend-Short Cropped Bob!

This has Spring written all over it!  This was first spotted at the movie premiere of "Just Go With It" by JENNIFER ANNISTON!  No matter what your face shape this is a style that can be adjusted for YOU!  If you have a long face make sure you tell your hairstylist to break that up by giving you some cheek and lip length surface layers around your face.  It's already gread for heart shaped & square faces.  Switching the part from the middle to the side can also change this style for different face shapes.

This cut is pretty simple.  The underneath is cut pretty blunt and straight across.  It's the hair that lays over the bottom that needs to be texturized and broken up yet still giving the illusion of a bob.  NOBODY wants triangle head where all the fullness at the bottom.  Keep your fullness more thru the middle of this haircut by keeping the ends more shattered on the surface.  Have fun with      the  haircolor also.  Deeper shades on the underneath will keep this bob looking nice and solid with the lighter tones on top will show off those awesome surface layers.  This particular client cut almost 9 inches (just shy of the Locks of Love requirement) and walked away looking so feminine and ready for Spring.  Top off this style with one of my favorite products....Texture Twist by Pureology.  It will really help this style that piecey seperation on the ends.  Be Brave, Have Fun &Heeellllooooo Spring!  Yay!!

LOCKS OF LOVE - DONATE YOUR HAIR!

Before
After
LOCKS OF LOVE.... WHO ARE THEY!
A public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They use donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses provided help restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Just want to take a moment to THANK this special girl for donating almost 11 inches of her hair to Locks of Love.  This was her SECOND time to do this.  That's Incredible.  There is a great need for your hair if you are cutting a minimum of 10 inches at your next haircut.  Please check out Locks of Love and make a difference in a child/person's life.

Believe it or not.... Your Hair Dryer is Important!!

The tools you use on your hair are just as important as the products!  My FAVORITE Hair Dryer is my CHI!!!  I am a skeptic by nature and didn't believe in the new technology that came out several years ago, "Ceramic Anion Infared".... I was like that's just a fancy term so they can charge us more for a dryer!  Maybe and that's a strong maybe about a year later (could have been longer)  my favorite Solano Hair Dryer went out.  A beauty rep convinced me to try this NEW dryer, so not only did every hairstylist around me already use one it was on sale and cheaper than replacing my Solano... so I said "Why Not"????  I always try things out on my hair first so I took it home with me.... you know how when you start to dry your hair and you decide that it feels pretty dry so you will stop and do your makeup or something?  Well usually about 5 minutes later the very tips/ends of your hair will have water drops on them and you realize you need to keep drying your hair.... not with this dryer... that is the beauty of the technology... it drys the hair from the INSIDE OUT!  I was sold and especially because my hair is naturally curly... the result left my hair cuticle much smoother.  I am on my 2nd one and they are great... another plus is that they are quiet and way less heavy than my old favorite dryer.... so its not killing my arm when I am done drying my hair!  So if you are like me and haven't made the switch... this is a great price on this dryer.... it is actually less than my cost from my local beauty rep... that's another great thing about CHI... they have good sales!!! I encourage everyone to make the change and this will only help your products do the best they can for your hair and keep those over blown dry ends even healthier!!

BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT....IS IT THE REAL DEAL?

I am a skeptic usually when it comes to these NEW trendy services that Hairstylists and salons charge an arm & leg for.  I have seen these services come and go and not really work but a lot of people spend money because it is the thing to do and a lot of Hairstylists make a lot of money off of you.... what bothers me.... do they even care if they ever see you again?!  Well thanks to my client Katherine Parker and her interest in "does the Brazilian Blowout" REALLY work... I have taken the dive in the deep end head first and tried it out and I AM A BELIEVER!!!  Kat's hair literally has never even really been that smooth with spending 20 minutes round brushing it and using my favorite smoothing products...it always has to be flat ironed!  Not now...12 weeks later I have become a firm supporter and believer in the BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT service.  After her most recent haircut Saturday 2/12 I still only had to dry her hair with a brush without pulling and tugging.... it is amazing!

Now my also lovely client Ms. Greta has had it done and is at her 9 week mark and still loving the results!  In my opinion this is the first "trendy" hair service that is really worth
the $150 service price.  Expect to be there a good 2 hours and love your hair
when you leave and to maintain the service you must use a SULFATE FREE shampoo & conditioner.  I recommend the one made by the company you will always have
better results that way...Thanks girls I am so appreciative to have you as my clients!!
